SOG had a café that served bagels only until a certain time and its hidden in bus area. For the race experience, other resorts had things available for runners, like bananas, bagels and other treats. The buses not running more than every hr is crazy, so thank goodness we can walk over to Polynesian to get a boat or monorail. There were several servers that we really liked. Food was pretty good everywhere in the resort, though wait time for dinner to come to table in Manginos was a little long. I can speak well of one of the ladies at the front desk, as she was very pleasant and worked hard to get me my extra room back and was overall the way you would expect a person on Disney Property to serve. Thermostat did not really work at all, and thankfully we came at a time when it was not too hot, though cold was a problem. Do not boast of a microwave and then not have one.

As mentioned in previous reviews, even cheaper hotels give free continental breakfast and have a microwave. At the end of our stay I am very sad to report that you indeed get what you pay for, or in this case you get less. For the duration of our stay we pondered if this "resort" was the red headed step child of Disney Resorts, or was some of the "ways" of the SOG because it was indeed special just for our service members. "Overall Disappointed" 7 years ago by RunnerGirl Went on a girls trip for the Princess Half Marathon weekend, to run the races and see DW for the first time. So to sum this all up, if you like huge rooms, golf courses, waterfalls, great rates, know or are a military person that is going with you on the trip, and you don't mind not going to Disney's Super-Deluxe resorts this is a great resort for you. The wildlife includes deer, turkeys, snakes, and gators. I don't recommend dinner here though unless you want the equivalent of Captain Cook's at The Polynesian, burgers, wings, or breakfast which are all good. And my cousin recently had a wedding there, ceremony, and reception, which was very good.

Definitely also the most secure resort, and has multiple huge waterfalls. Also breakfast is decent to have a couple of times, and during the slow season they'll usually give it for free.

A standard room makes every other resort including the Polynesian look puny. Hands down the best thing though are the massive rooms. The Palm Wing also has a parking garage which is very nice particularly with Florida's weather. Definitely the Palm Wing is better, especially with the new renovations, but the Magnolia has the two pools, and is much closer to Everglades (Bar and Grill). Nearly every room has a view of the great Gazebo a pool, a pond with Coy Fish, or one of the golf courses. It is definitely not a Super Deluxe Resort, but for what you pay it is definitely worth it. I've been dozens of time to this resort and at least a dozen more to other resorts including all the ones on the Monorail Line, and will tell you this resort is worth it if you can't afford to go to the super deluxe resorts. "Great resort for the money with massive rooms" 6 years ago by David It is great that Disney has a resort for the people that serve this country and their families.
